Bellet, the wine appellation of Nice

The Bellet appellation covers fewer than 70 hectares on the hills overlooking Nice, between 200 and 400 meters in altitude. It is one of the smallest French appellations, with a confidential production that does not exceed a few hundred thousand bottles per year across all styles.

Characteristic grape varieties

Authorized grape varieties include rolle (vermentino) and roussanne for whites, braquet and folle noire for reds — varieties rarely found elsewhere in France.

A specific microclimate

The topography and proximity to the sea create a microclimate distinct from the rest of Provence, featuring marked temperature variations between day and night.

Limited availability

This limited production directly impacts availability: small volumes rarely reach mass retail and are mainly distributed through direct estate sales or a select network of local wine merchants.
